Also a 30 ksec LETG/ACIS-S observation of the isolated neutron star, RXJ 1856.5-3754, measures transmission of the ACIS contamination below the C-K edge. CURRENT STA. S/C: we had eclipse #23 yesterday, all nominal. Weare doing the usual post-eclipse cleanup. We had a gyro bias excursion, the first after several months. It has returned to the pre excursion level. SIGNIFICANT SOLAR ACTIVITY: New region 11234 rotated into view at the southeast limb on June 8. It produced a flare: C1.0 at 10:28 UTC. GOES X-ray flux is steady at the low B level. The CME from Tuesday's magnificent flare still hasn't reached Earth. NOAA forecasters estimate a 20% to 30% chance that the cloud may yet deliver a glancing blow to our planet.
