This region is currently just behind the southeast limb and is capable of M class flaring. A long duration GOES X-ray C8.3 event occurred in the same region at 01:11 UTC today. This region could produce a small CME. This could result in high particle fluxes for Chandra in the next day or two. X I > = 10-4 major events that can trigger planet-wide radio blackouts and long-lasting radiation storms. Chandra is primarily bothered by M and X class flares. C class flares that are accompanied by CMEs (coronal mass ejections) are sometimes troublesome.
