SOT shift report 2008-08-14 L3311 File created at 2008:227:14:33 UTC = 10:33 AM Aug-14-2008 EDT End 11:00:00 AM EDT SOT Lead: Ed Kellogg PLAN ---- Continue working to recover from Normal Sun Mode. We expect to perfom a momentum maneuver soon, followed by a review of the ephemeris time offset patch this morning, for which things are progressing well. We plan to do the recovery from NSM this afternoon. CURRENT STA. PASS Support-UTC BOT EOT ---Station------ Local Time ----------------- ------------ --- --- ---------------- ---------- Aug 14 08:48 2008_227_0229_227_1105_Dump_EM_37834.gz MP: We are planning a load to resume science on day 228 @ 1700. S/C: Early this morning the temperatures approached the trip point for thermal safing by switching to B side equipment. We will execute a CAP to disable SCS 26 to avoid that. We are also working with ITT to raise the trip point temperature. We are working on a CAP to reduce momentum by a 180 degree yaw maneuver(now being executed). We are working on a revised patch to the ephemeris time offset - functional testing this morning on ASVT. It appears to be keeping the arrays pointed in the correct direction. We are continuing to prepare for recovery from NSM. Significant solar activity: very quiet. GOES X-ray flux: very low. GOT/IST: - Evaluation of QL data - none today. Notes: We had an antenna pointing failure on DSS-27, solved by a reset, and on DSS-66 we had a ranging failure. We have comm all day today until 1 am tomorrow. This is to prevent undesirable switch to B side because of high OBA temperature. CAP 1076 will deal with issues about monitoring during the disable period. Approved. Status telecon: We did the CAP 1074 timing test. it kicked off at the right time, giving us a calibration of error log times and validates daily load times. We completed the patch to regenerate the ephemeris time offset; ASVT testing looks good. We reviewed flight software for use of major frame data. EPS and OTG are OK. RADMON itill to be reviewed. Ken Gage is preparing a CAP & cmd load for yaw biase to improve the momentum state (this is now being executed). We are drafting a CAP to patch EIO, to reapply three Ball equipment patches that had been applied earlier but were lost previous to the current reset. This CAP is to be executed after NSM recovery but before start of science.
