Significant solar activity: At midnight there was 1 spotted region on the visible solar disk. The solar flare activity level was very low. New region 11009 emerged in the southwest quadrant on December 10. A solar wind stream flowing from a coronal hole could reach Earth on Dec. 11th or 12th. However, because of the high northern latitude of the hole, the stream could miss Earth, sailing over the north pole of our planet. GOES X-ray flux: There were four short duration B class events between 0500 and 1200 UTC today.
