Carry out a series of calibration observations of PKS2155-304, obsid's 9707 through 9712. These use ACIS-S with LETG and HETG, and HRC-S with LETG. Then finish the orbit with obsid 9731, an ACIS-I observation of the Extended Groth Strip to compare with multiwavelength data of the AEGIS project and study AGN evolution Next Comms: 184/1910-2200 1950 2150 DSS-66 MADRID 1550-1750 EDT, Wed 2 Jul 185/0245-0500 0345 0445 DSS-24 GOLDSTONE 2345-0045 EDT, Wed 2 Jul 185/0930-1145 1030 1130 DSS-24 GOLDSTONE 0630-0730 EDT, Thu 3 Jul 185/1915-2205 1955 2055 DSS-66 MADRID 1555-1655 EDT, Thu 3 Jul 185/2200-0030 2240 0020 DSS-66 MADRID 1840-2020 EDT, Thu 3 Jul 186/0140-0400 0220 0350 DSS-46 CANBERRA 2220-2350 EDT, Thu 3 Jul 186/1130-1345 1230 1330 DSS-27 GOLDSTONE 0830-0930 EDT, Fri 4 Jul 186/1910-2100 1950 2050 DSS-66 MADRID 1550-1650 EDT, Fri 4 Jul Orbital events: 2008:183:10:46:37.365 1229 EPERIGEE ORBIT PERIGEE 2008:184:18:30:57.539 1230 EAPOGEE ORBIT APOGEE 2008:186:02:13:32.074 1230 EPERIGEE ORBIT PERIGEE 2008:187:09:58:35.389 1231 EAPOGEE ORBIT APOGEE 2008:188:17:41:38.027 1231 EPERIGEE ORBIT PERIGEE 2008:190:01:25:45.650 1232 EAPOGEE ORBIT APOGEE 2008:191:09:09:10.969 1232 EPERIGEE ORBIT PERIGEE 2008:192:16:53:04.071 1233 EAPOGEE ORBIT APOGEE EVENTS ------ Status at LOS, 184:11:58, was as follows: PCAD MODE = NPNT CONTROL LAW FLAG = NPNT Stars: = 5 FIDS = 3 RA = 329.733 deg Dec = -30.271 deg ROLL = 92.200 deg Format = 2 OBSID = 9706 PKS2155-304, calibration SIM FA = -467 SIM TSC = 72440 (ACIS-S) DITHER = ENAB HETG = OUT (79.09 deg) LETG = IN ( 4.09 deg) HRC-S HV is ON EPHIN Geom = SMAL E150 = 109.8 E300 = 2.5 E1300 = 3.6 LT 20.0 (RADMON P4GM = 0.0 LT 300. EPH temp: 115.28 degF EPH 27V: 26.84 NOTES/ISSUES/PROBLEMS A review of the previous FA6 heater test indicated that the ACIS collimator temperature settled out at ~-20 degC. This is expected to be the coldest case. There are no indications to prevent eventual permanent turn-off of this heater. Following the next test, July 11-13 including a full orbit with ACIS in viewing position, we will review results and assess next steps. ACIS reports 24% of cti measurements are at least 0.5 deg C too warm, so improved performance is still needed. From the 9am status meeting: Three supports over the past day. No issues. Pre-approved CAP 425H was run to perform the EIA Sequencer-A self test. Results were as expected. JUL0708A products were released for a load review at 2pm today. Radiation will be handled using the method of OFLS 11.6.1 until processing and archiving of SIR are implemented.
