SOT shift report 2008-09-11 L3339 File created at 2008:255:12:47 UTC = 08:47 AM Sep-11-2008 EDT End 11:00:00 AM EDT SOT Lead: Ed Kellogg PLAN ---- OBSID 09454, AEGIS-2 2008:255:05:06, ACIS-I NONE - a very deep (total 800ks/field) Chandra survey of 0.25 deg^2 covering three contiguous fields in the Extended Groth Strip, which have exceptional multiwaveband coverage obtained by the AEGIS project. These data, in combination with the CDF North and South, will provide a definitive measurement of the evolution of faint, X-ray selected AGN from z=3-4, where the optical number counts start to drop dramatically. You can view the AEGIS survey by downloading http://aegis.ucolick.org/multiwave_aegis.php into Google Earth. MP: The SEP1508 products were released last night for email review today. S/C: All quiet. Significant solar activity: very quiet. GOES X-ray flux: very low. A recurrent coronal hole (CH340) will rotate into an Earth facing position on September 10-11. A stream of solar wind from this hole will hit Earth on Sept. 13th. GOT/IST: Next Tuesday we'll have a disaster drill: simulated tornado.
