Chandra CalDB4 Index File Configurations

Special FITS index files contain the lists of CALDB keywords for the principle header data unit (HDU) of each calibration file; there is one index file for each instrumental branch. More information is available from the Indexing System page.

The index files are named caldbNxxxx.indx, where xxxx is a four-digit version number. The following table gives the version number of the instrument branch for each CALDB release. For CalDB 4.1.0, the index versions were all reinitialized to 0400, to prevent there ever being confusion with CalDB 3.#.# or earlier versions.
