Ed:
An image is intrinsically aligned with its axes. But,
dmcopy "evt.fits[sky=region(src.reg)][bin sky]" img.fits
will make an image which is the smallest rectangle surrounding
your region, and which has all pixels outside the region
set to zero. (You may want to use e.g. [bin sky=8] to
block down the image unless the region is a small one).
