Hi everyone,

I'm happy to say that the problem with calcrmf/calcarf has been resolved
;) I emailed Alexey Vikhlinin, who wrote the code, and explained to him what
was going on. He graciously worked on it yesterday until he figured out
what the problem was. This is what he had to say:

"OK; it looks like there was a shift by 1.5 channels in calcrmf matrices
with respect to the mkrmf ones. 1 channel is definitely my fault, 0.5 more
is still unclear; it looks like CIAO assumes that the centroid of channel
X has a value of X+0.5, while I used just X. It is unclear what is used by
the calibration.

calcrmf will be fixed in the next release. In the meantime, you can
continue using your current binary, just give it the
rmfshift=-1.5
option in the command line or in the parameter file."

I have tried this on my data and it seems to be doing the trick. Thanks a
lot to everyone who emailed me with their comments and to Alexey for
working on this so fast

Marjorie ;)
