for background info, you can see that the regnum's aren't sorted when you get
way down to the S3 chip:
$ dmlist
$CALDB/data/chandra/acis/cpf/fefs/acisD2000-01-29fef_piN0002.fits"[ccd_id=7][cols
regnum]" data,clean | more
and page down a couple of times.
I'm afraid you'll have to contact calcrmf's author (Alexey Vikhlinin) to see
about an update.
For future reference: CIAO 2.2 will have tools to weight RMFs and ARFs, which
is planned for a fall release (2001 ;).
