Title: Clean ACIS Background in VFAINT Mode
Date: 3 Jun 2002
URL: http://cxc.harvard.edu/ciao/threads/aciscleanvf/
History:
removed note: it is necessary to run the Remove the acis_detect_afterglow
Correction thread, even if you have run this one.
Title: Remove the acis_detect_afterglow Correction
Date: 3 Jun 2002
URL: http://cxc.harvard.edu/ciao/threads/acisdetectafterglow/
History:
removed note: it is necessary to run this thread, even if you have run the
Clean ACIS Background in VFAINT Mode thread.
NOTE: a test of both of these methods showed that more than 30% -- but NOT
necessarily "most" -- of the events identified as potential cosmic-ray
afterglows are also identified as potential cosmic ray events using
"check_vf_pha=yes." It is therefore advisable to run the second thread to
identify the afterglow events, even if you have cleaned the background in
VFAINT mode.
