Hello,
I am constructing simulated Chandra observations of galaxy clusters
using the MARX program developed at MIT. This program (if you are not
familiar with it) produces observations that can by analyzed using the
CIAO tools.
I've been using mkrmf and mkwarf to create weighted RMFs and ARFs for
the cluster spectra, but mkrmf takes typically a very long time to
run, since it has to process so many regions. Are there any
simplifying assumptions that can be made to speed things up?
I realize this is a somewhat open-ended question, so anything that
would help me to ask a perhaps more pointed question would be
appreciated.
Best,
John ZuHone
