Hello, CIAO 3.4 users:
An upgrade to the CIAO 3.4 CalDB version has been released. CalDB
Version 3.5.3 has been released as of today, 01 April 2009.
CalDB 3.5.3 includes the latest updates to the ACIS T_GAIN library,
specifically ACIS T_GAIN Epoch 36 (Nov 2008 through Jan 2009). It also
includes a change in the Calibration Validity Start Date (CVSD*/CVST*)
for all ACIS -110C calibration files from very early in the mission.

NOTE to CIAO 3.4 users: CalDB 3.5.x will be maintained for users of
CIAO Version 3.4 until approximately the end of Calendar
year 2009. Currently CXC Standard Data Processing (SDP) of Chandra
telemetry data is using CalDB 3.5.3, but will switch to the CalDB4
system when DS8.0 is released into SDP later this year. After that time,
CalDB 3.5.x will no longer be needed at the CXC. Though CalDB 3.5.x will
continue to be available, it will *not be upgraded* after that time.
Hence, users are encouraged to upgrade their analysis software to CIAO
4.1.1, or any later version as may exist, by the end of 2009.
