I'm pleased to announce the release of ISIS version 1.5.0

ISIS is an extensible spectral analysis system, programmable
in S-Lang. For more information, see
   http://space.mit.edu/cxc/isis/

This version of ISIS provides built-in support for parallel
processing on multi-core computers. ISIS now performs the
following tasks in parallel using all available cpus:

 * Model fits using 'plm', a parallel implementation of the
   Levenberg-Marquardt optimization method.
 * Monte-Carlo parameter search, using 'fit_search'
 * Sets of single parameter confidence limit searches, with
automatic refits upon discovery of a new best-fit, using
   'conf_loop'
 * 2D confidence contour maps, using 'conf_map_counts' or
   'conf_map_flux'.

For more details on these new features, see:
  http://space.mit.edu/cxc/isis/multicore.html

This release also includes a number of new functions based on
contributions by Mike Nowak (MIT). These new functions (group,
group_bin, ignore_values, notice_values) provide more versatile
spectral grouping and ignore/notice functionality.

Regards,
