The CIAO team is pleased to announce the 01 April 2010 release of the
CIAO contributed science tarfile. The new tarfile may be download via
ciao-install (http://cxc.harvard.edu/ciao/download/) or from the CIAO
Contributed Scripts Page (http://cxc.harvard.edu/ciao/download/scripts/).
The changes in this release are:
o) The sherpa_contrib.utils (Python) sherpa_utils (S-Lang) module has
been extended to include the estimate_weighted_expmap() routine and to
add the fluxtype argument to the existing routines.
o) SherpaCL
Version 0.24 release of the experimental sherpacl application that
allows users to use CIAO 3.4 syntax for Sherpa and ChIPS commands in CIAO 4.
Added support for the CIAO 3.4 commands: AXES, BCOUNTS, BEFLUX, BFLUX,
BMCOUNTS, BPFLUX, COLORSYS, CONTOUR, CPLOT, DCOUNTS, EFLUX, FLUX, FTEST,
GRIDS, LEVELS, MCOUNTS, MLR, PAGESIZE, PICKPOINTS, PFLUX, REDRAW,
RELSIZE, RESTORE and SPLIT.
New commands, primarily related to image support in both ChIPS and
Sherpa: IPLOT, IMG, CBAR, CB, CN and IM.
The CURVE command can now be used to plot data from files, and the PRINT
command now uses the settings frmo the PAGESIZE and COLORSYS commands.
o) The new make_instmap_weights script allows users to create the
spectral weights file used by mkinstmap from the command line.
