I have put together a script that will download an ObsId from the
Chandra archive (as long as it is publically available) - its use can be
as simple as
% download_chandra_obsid 1838
to download ObsId 1838 (which happens to be one of the data sets that we
use in the CIAO threads). If you want to only download a subset of files
for a bunch of obsids you can say
% download_chandra_obsid 1838,1842,1843 evt2,fov,bpix,asol,pbk
The script can be downloaded from
http://cxc.harvard.edu/contrib/dburke/download_chandra_obsid/
and can be renamed if you feel that its name is too verbose!
