The CXC has just released the latest Chandra CalDB upgrade, version
4.3.1, to the public. CalDB version 4.3.1 includes two items that affect
certain users of ACIS datasets:
* ACIS T_GAIN Epoch 42 (May-July 2010), which affects the time-dependent
gain corrections in acis_process_events, for ACIS datasets taken since
2010-02-01T00:00:00 UTC.
* Two upgraded ACIS-8 BKGRND files effective 2000-12-01, applicable when
ACIS-S is in the focal plane (not ACIS-I). The improvement is in the
destreak algorithm applied, which was released with CIAO 4.0 in 2007. A
new ACIS BKGRND tar ball has been released with CalDB 4.3.1, with these
new files.
