Hello chandra-users,
The CIAO team has released an update to the CIAO contributed science
tarfile. The new tarfile may be download via ciao-install
(http://cxc.harvard.edu/ciao/download/) or from the CIAO Contributed
Scripts Page (http://cxc.harvard.edu/ciao/download/scripts/).
The changes in this release are:
o) specextract
http://cxc.harvard.edu/ciao/ahelp/specextract.html
* when background spectra are extracted and combine=yes, the
background spectra will be summed, even if bkgresp=no. The previous
version of the script required background responses when combine=yes.
* existence of supporting files (e.g. msk1.fits) is checked before
running the script.
o) fluximage

* added support for input files that are missing the MJD-OBS keyword
(early, unreprocessed observations may not have this value).
o) chandra_repro
http://cxc.harvard.edu/ciao/ahelp/chandra_repro.html
* bug fix: the archive evt2.fits file was not being copied to the
output directory when process_events=no.
