Matching CIAO and CALDB Versions

CIAO 4.2 requires CALDB 4.2.0 to operate properly.

CALDB 4.2.0 should not be used unless you are running CIAO 4.2.

Are your versions mismatched? Update CIAO and CALDB!

A new version of the Contributed Scripts and Modules tarfile has been released; download the updated package from the Scripts page.

This update feature combine_spectra, a script that coadds multiple imaging source PHA spectra, the associated backgrounds and the ARF files.

Version 2 of the Sherpa package for CIAO 4.2 has been released. Sherpa v2 has a number of enhancements, such as two new iterative fitting methods, refinements to parallelization, and many improvements to instrument and source models.

Support for the S-Lang scripting language has been removed from Sherpa in this release. S-Lang is still included for the CIAO tools and modules and for the ChIPS plotting application.
