Archive of monthly reports

There was a several arc second spike in the attitude error that immediately got corrected by the gyros on Nov 15, likely due to a Leonid meteor hit. No other consequences are yet apparent. FOT engineering is investigating.

Radiation

Sunspots 484, 486 and 488 are back on the Earth-facing side of the sun this week, so we are prepared for possible strong solar activity again.

A Radiation violation of P3 (130keV) scaled from P6 (761keV) has been observed by ACE monitoring on Thu, 20 Nov 2003 at 08:45 UT.
Observed = 1.5509e+08
(limit = fluence of 1.2e8 particles/cm2-ster-MeV within 2 hours)

A Radiation violation of the USAF Kp index occured on Thu, 20 Nov 2003 12:37 UT
Value = 6.67 (dynamic limit: 6.3)

No action required as rates quickly turned over and an HRC-I observation was underway for most of the rest of the orbit.

Detrended CTI

Average of ACIS-I CCDs (MnKa) slope 8.618e-9 CTI/day
Detrended slope 8.620e-9 CTI/day

ACIS Warm Pixels

We display all bad pixels showed up in past, and, if any, previously unknown bad pixels appeared in the last 14 days. We also list hot pixels (defined as 1000 above the average of bias background). Warm columns 509-514 are probably due to a computational artificial effect due to boundaries.

ACIS Focal Plane Temperature

For this period no peaks are observed.

Recent Observations

"Prob" means that there was probably bad time data included in the manual runs. This will probably be corrected in future AP processing.
