Synopsis
Return the model, model parameters, or model type
Syntax
get_model( [id] ) get_model_pars(model) get_model_type( model )
Description
- id - the id of the dataset to use; if not given, uses the default dataset id (id=1 by default, see "ahelp get_default_id")
- model - model variable or model expression string
get_model
The get_model command returns the full model by id. If an instrument model is part expression, then the full convolved model is returned. The show_model command ("ahelp show_model") is recommended to simply print the current model to the screen.
get_model_pars
The get_model_pars command returns a list of model parameters by model variable or model expression string.
get_model_type
The get_model_type command returns the model type by the model variable or model expression string.
Example 1
sherpa> srcmod=get_model("src")Return the model assigned to dataset "src" and store it in the variable "srcmod".
Example 2
sherpa> get_model_pars(g1) ['fwhm', 'pos', 'ampl']
Return the model parameters for the model object "g1".
Example 3
sherpa> get_model_type(g1) 'gauss1d' sherpa> get_model_type(gauss1d.g1 * powlaw1d.p1) 'binaryopmodel'
Return the model type for a simple component and a complex model expression.
