Synopsis
Create a 2D histogram from a pair of axes and a pair of sample arrays
Syntax
histogram2d( x, y, x_grid, y_grid )
Description
The histogram2d command creates a histogram array from an pair of samples and a pair of axes.
- x - array of x values
- y - array of y values
- x_grid - array of x bin edges
- y_grid - array of y bin edges
Example
sherpa> dataspace2d( [216, 261] ) sherpa> x, y = get_axes() sherpa> n = histogram2d( val0, val1, x, y ) sherpa> set_dep( n )
A binned 2D histogram is stored in the blank image created by the dataspace2d and set_dep commands.
