load_xsrdblur

Context: models

Synopsis

convolve with the dislkine model shape. XSpec convolution model *Experimental*.

Description

A convolution model to smooth a spectrum by relatavistic effects from an accretion disk around a non-rotating black hole. Modified from diskline model (Fabian et al. MNRAS 238, 729) by Andy Fabian and Roderick Johnstone.

xsrdblur Parameters

Number Name Description
1 Betor10 Index: power law dependence of emissivity (scales as R^Index). If this parameter is 10 or greate then the accretion disk emissivity law (1-sqrt(6/R))/R^3 is used.
2 Rin_M inner radius (units of GM/c^2)
3 Rout_M outer radius (units of GM/c^2)
4 Incl inclination (degrees)

Loading the X-Spec convolution models

Please see ahelp xsconvolve for information on how to load the model.

Notes

XSpec version

This information is taken from the XSpec User's Guide. Version 12.10.0e of the XSpec models is supplied with CIAO 4.11.

Example

sherpa> from sherpa_contrib.xspec.xsconvolve import load_xsrdblur
sherpa> load_xsrdblur("kdb")
sherpa> set_source(kdb(xspowerlaw.pl + xsgaussian.gs))
sherpa> kdb.index = 1.5
sherpa> kdb.rin_m = 10

The powerlaw and gaussian components are convolved by the rdblur model, with the inner radius set to 10.

About Contributed Software

This script is not an official part of the CIAO release but is made available as "contributed" software via the CIAO scripts page. Please see this page for installation instructions - such as how to ensure that the parameter file is available.
