Synopsis

Ungroup PHA data

ungroup( [id,] [bkg_id] )

Description

The ungroup command turns off grouping for PHA data. The "grouping" field in the data object is set to False .

• id - the id of the dataset to use; if not given, uses the default dataset id (id=1 by default, see "ahelp get_default_id")
• bkg_id - the id of the background, if ungrouping background data; default=None

Example 1

sherpa> ungroup()

Turn off grouping for the default dataset.

sherpa> print(get_data().grouped)
False

Example 2

sherpa> ungroup("src", bkg_id=1)

Ungroup the second background associated with the dataset "src".
