Abstract

In this poster we report preliminary results from a combined Chandra and radio VLA study of two radio loud objects : 3C 47 (z=0.425) and 3C 219 (z=0.1744).

In both these targets we discover non-thermal X-ray emission associated to the radio jets and hot spots and diffuse non-thermal X-ray emission coincident with the radio lobes.

Comparing the models' predictions with the radio and X-ray spectrum of the non-thermal features we obtain constraints on the spectral distribution and energetics of the emitting electrons and on the relativistic bulk motion of the X-ray jets.
