To:sot_shift from: Dan Schwartz date: 18 Jan 2011, 10:00 EDT Subject: SOT shift report 2011-01-18 L4198 -------- See http://asc.harvard.edu/acis/SOT_reports/sot-shift.html, or /proj/web-cxc-dmz/htdocs/acis/SOT_reports/Jan_18_2011_L4198.txt (NOTE NEW LOCATION FOR THE REPORTS DIRECTORY) Shift L4198. Start at 018:13:00 GMT = 08:00am 18 Jan EST End 10:00am 18 Jan SOT Lead DAS (Times will be given in GMT on day 018.) PLAN ---- Continue running load JAN1711A. Finish obsid 12386, an ACIS-I observation of RMC REFL9, a star cluster in the Rosette Molecular Cloud, to study the relation of the X-ray luminosity function to the initial mass function, the spatial distribution of young stars, and the frequency of disks. Then do obsid 12845, an ACIS-S observation of the young radio source B3 0710+439, to study interaction with the host galaxy and seach for an FR I/FR II division. Then do obsid 12732, an ACIS-S observation of 3C 234 as part of a complete, legacy (public data) survey of all 3CR radio sources to detect jets, hotspots, and active nucleus emission. NOTES/ISSUES/PROBLEMS --------------------- Aspect camera running warm, at -17.9 deg C. Effect on dark current cal will be assessed. May be useful to have a data set at the warmer temperture, since we are losing themal control sometimes. From the 9am status meeting: Two supports over the past day. No issues. Products for JAN2411 expected out today. Dark current calibration was conducted last night. There was a delay getting data due to DSN, but problem resolved in-house, and no impact to the dark current cal analysis (which isn't done in real time anyway). Sun is quiet, two small active regions and a coronal hole not expected to cause problems. ACE protons and GOES X-rays near background levels.
