It appears to be the remains of old sunspot 1082. The region is crackling with low-level solar flares. GOES X-ray flux: Active region 1082 created a short duration C class event today at ~0900 UTC. X-ray flux remains a bit elevated at B level, with more activity likely. Earth-directed CMEs in the past two days: none.
