SOT Shift Report 2009-07-23 L3654 Duration: 23 July 2009 07:00 EDT - 23 July 2009 9:15 EST (Day 204) 23 July 2009 11:00 GMT - 23 July 2009 13:15 GMT SOT Lead: Bill Podgorski ======================================== Plan ---- Happy Birthday Chandra. It was launched 10 years ago today!! Running JUL2009A on ascending leg. Observing 'SDSS J1411+5736' (obsid 10751) with ACIS-S. Continuing to work on the MUPS Tank Pressure Anomaly: - Have COMM most of today to monitor spacrcraft - The MUPS tank pressure has stabilized at about 217/218 psi. It is toggling about this level (1 bit is 1.6 psi). - S/C momentum is still as expected - Testing the software patches to SCS 31 on ASVT (to allow use of A side thrusters in safe mode response). - Command tools are available to close iso-valve 5 if a large pressure drop is seen during monitoring. - Discussions are still ongoing with tank (ATK) and pressure transducer (Tavis) vendors, fault tree is being expanded. - There will be a telecon later on today to discuss operations response to pressure drop. - Consideration is being given to a test firing of the MUPS thrusters. Momentum dumps are still on indefinite hold. -------------------------------------------------------------------- JUL2009A: 10751 0 SDSS J1411+5736 2009:204:09:26:46.156 7.0 ACIS-S NONE 10111 0 G1.9+0.3 2009:204:12:01:09.489 69.0 ACIS-S NONE I0931 CAL-ER (56940) 2009:205:07:47:16.501 0.0 -- -- 10931 0 ZwCl 1829.3+6912 2009:205:08:15:51.439 30.5 ACIS-I NONE 10271 0 SDSSJ130525.83+53353 2009:205:17:13:42.439 10.6 ACIS-I NONE T_E76 CAL-ER (56938) 2009:205:20:43:10.887 0.1 -- -- GG_76 CAL-ER (56937) 2009:205:23:19:12.221 23.0 -- -- G1_76 CAL-ER (56936) 2009:206:06:21:30.311 5.0 -- -- T_X77 CAL-ER (56935) 2009:206:08:20:49.083 0.1 -- -- 10134 2 Vela PWN 2009:206:11:36:59.083 38.5 ACIS-S NONE COMM: Support (GMT) BOT EOT Station Site Track time (local) --------------- ---- ---- --------- --------- ------------------------- 204/0730-1310 0830 1740 DSS-27 GOLDSTONE 0430-1340 EDT, Thu 23 Jul 204/1835-0110 1935 0055 DSS-65 MADRID 1535-2055 EDT, Thu 23 Jul Notes from 9am Meeting ---------------------- Ops: - Remarks: - Current Configuration (as of 204/1300): In Radiation Zone NO Current SI ACIS-S Grating NONE Observation ID 10111 Target G1.9+0.3 Altitude 130.6 kkm Asc Radmon Disable 205/20:16z Next Radiation Zone 205/20:44z to 206/08:20z - Supports: 2 Supports Completed (2 34 Meter, 0 26 Meter) - SCS's Loaded: - CAP's / Procedures * CAP Number: * Time: * Title: * Notes: DSN DR's: * DR #: * Station: * Problem: * Cause: * Action: - OPS DR's: * Problem: * Impact: * Cause: * Resolution: - TECH DR's: * Problem: * Impact: * Cause: * Resolution: MP: - July 27 products were approved yesterday. There is a small uptick in the rates, probably due the effects of a coronal hole. - Solar Activity Forecast: Solar activity is expected to be very low. - Geophysical Activity Forecast: The geomagnetic field is expected to be quiet to unsettled, with a slight chance for isolated active levels, for the next two days (23-24 July). Mostly quiet conditions are expected for day three (25 July) as the coronal hole high speed stream begins to wane.
