Load review this afternoon. Eng: - All OK. - Paul sent me a clarification on the interaction between the SCS 120 unload cutoff and the SIM mech move (which was discussed in yesterday's shift report): "I just wanted to check-in with you regarding my Eng report at the 9am tag-up this morning. The issue that we encountered yesterday was that two processes that manipulate the state of the PCAD momentum unloading subfunction (namely the SIM mech move and the SCS 120 unload cutoff monitor) were running in parallel, and the SIM move process re-enabled the subfuction roughly 25 minutes before the SCS 120 process was scheduled to take the same action. The SCS 120 commanding to cutoff the momentum unload executed properly, with no interference from the SIM move. It is the SCS 120's one-hour wait after the cutoff (which is in place to allow the thrusters to cool before allowing them to be fired again) which was interrupted. As noted in the 9am tag-up this condition was benign." SOT/Radiation: - ACE solar protons are low (< 100). - Solar Activity Forecast: Solar activity is expected to be very low. - Geophysical Activity Forecast: The geomagnetic field is expected to be initially quiet. An increase to unsettled to active levels with a slight chance for minor storm periods is expected around mid-day on day one (May 27), due to the arrival of the CME observed on 23 May. Continued active levels with a slight chance for minor storm periods are expected on day two (May 28) and continuing through day three (May 29), with the arrival of the CME observed on 24 May.
