SIGNIFICANT SOLAR ACTIVITY: A very active region at the southeast limb rotated partly into view late yesterday. M class flares, even proton flares, are possible. Flares: C3.8 at 06:11, C4.9 at 12:21 and long duration C3.4 peaking at 13:08 UTC. GOES X-ray flux: The C class flare in progress at yesterday's 9 am tagup turned out to be from an old active region coming around the southeast limb of the Sun, and was of long duration. We can expect more from this region as it rotates into Earth facing position. CMEs: No obviously Earth directed CMEs were seen in LASCO or STEREO images in the past two days.
