S/C: all quiet. Eclipse #2 entrance was nominal. SIGNIFICANT SOLAR ACTIVITY: New region 11121 rotated partly into view late on November 3. Another spot became visible late on November 4 and more spots are likely to rotate into view today. The region is hot and capable of producing further M class flares. Flares: C1.0 at 02:53 and M1.6 at 23:58 UTC GOES X-ray flux: The return of region 11121 brings an M class flare of significant duration. That's several hundred times the flux we see at the background level. Since this region is still not directly Earth-facing, we are not likely to see any major effects, but "stay tuned." CMEs: No obviously Earth directed CMEs were seen in LASCO or STEREO images in the past two days.
