To:sot_shift from: Dan Schwartz date: 12 Sep 2011, 10:00 EDT Subject: SOT shift report 2011-09-12 L4435 -------- See http://asc.harvard.edu/acis/SOT_reports/sot-shift.html, or /proj/web-cxc-dmz/htdocs/acis/SOT_reports/Sep_12_2011_L4435.txt (NOTE NEW LOCATION FOR THE REPORTS DIRECTORY AS OF DEC 2010) Shift L4435. Start at 255:12:00 GMT = 08:00am 12 Sep EDT End 10:00am 12 Sep SOT Lead DAS (Times will be given in GMT on day 255.) PLAN ---- Continue running load SEP1211B. Finish OBSID 14343, an ACIS-I observation of the outskirts of the cluster of galaxies A133, to investigate the transition to the smooth, relaxed state of the gas and galaxies in the core. Then do OBSID 12482, an ACIS-S observation of the ROSAT source 1RXS J054747.2-195609 to try to identify a neutron star quiescent low-mass X-ray binary. Then do OBSID 12703, a ToO ACIS-S observation of GRB 110731A to study the late time X-ray light curve of this gamma-ray burst, to measure the total energy and bulk Lorentz factor of the burst. NOTES/ISSUES/PROBLEMS --------------------- ACIS focal plane is quite warm, despite distance from sun and only running 5 chips. Pitch is 149.3. This ACIS-I observation would probably like the best gain calibration. From the 9am status meeting: Nine supports over the past day. No issues. Four stored command sequence segments were uploaded, on-board loads good until 259:02:22. SEP1211B loads were approved Friday, and are running. ACE soft protons are decreasing from peak of almost 10,000 last Friday. There have been several CME prior to last Saturday, but none directed at the earth. Quick look data: OBSID Target Instr.
