SOT Shift Report Shift H16 Duration: 6 Aug 1999 22:00 EDT - 7 Aug 1999 06:00 EDT 7 Aug 1999 02:00 GMT - 7 Aug 1999 10:00 GMT SOT Lead: Tom Aldcroft Spacecraft/Aspect: - FOT/Science Liason: - HRC: Ralph Kraft ACIS: Ellen Sen ======================================== Plan ---- - IPS 5 - SAP 6A020: Assess Propellant Slosh - MUPS unloading test - EIA sequencer test Events ------ OBSID = 62478 ~05:00 - Fid lights lost due to maneuver to burn attitude 05:38 - IPS-5 burn. All indications are that the burn was nominal. LAE temperatures were similar to those seen in IPS-4. Several non-fatal errors were reported by the OBC during the burn. These were caused by an overflow on RCS count, and the usual over-temperature on dome temps after the burn finishes. 07:20 - MUPS unloading test start 08:45 - CAP 91A succesfully run to re-acquire fid lights. They were lost due to stray light during maneuvers associated with IPS-5. Notes/Issues/Problems --------------------- - The SSR dump covering 218:19:20 to 219:02:00 has very low quality. Several tries on station 16 were attempted, but all were poor. This station was needed because of its ranging capability. At the same time, the dump data were being captured with high fidelity on station 27. Unfortunately they were captured in a way so that the only possibility for playback to the OCC is to take over the realtime channel, effectively taking us LOS from the spacecraft. Furthermore, once the DSN site is released at 219:12:32, the dump data will be lost. The key potential science impact is that ACIS continuous clocking testing occurred at the beginning of the dump. ACIS (Yusaf) was consulted, and reported that they had adequate real-time data quality during the test. Based on this and impact to PCAD testing, we decided to forgo playback from station 27. The combination of attempted dumps and real-time telemetry appears to be complete (no missing minor frames) over the time period of the ACIS CC test. All attempted dumps will be supplied to CXCDS ops. If needed, it should be possible to recover the data for CXC processing.
