ACIS wishes to be taking data during entry into the next radiation zone; there is a question as to whether the safing ATS should contain ACIS commands and if so when the execution time should be. After discussion with ACIS science it has been decided to include the "dead-man" cutoff at 40000km, the ACIS team plans to safe the instrument manually before this point is reached. Bill Podgorski generated a plot showing the response of the vacuum monitor pressure and camera housing temperature at the start of ACIS bake-out. Just as the heater was turned on there was a rise in the pressure indication, from 8.3e-6 to 4.5e-5 torr in 20 minutes. The pressure then abruptly dropped to 1.5e-5 and has been gradually decreasing since. ACIS Door opening went nominally. Rob Cameron reviewed the ACA fid-light data and discovered that the fid-light on which track was lost had been occulted by the the ACIS camera housing door mechanism when it was partially open between heat pulses 4 and 5. The ACA provided an independent verification of the ACIS door motion. The process of having a GRETA workstation moved to the SOT area has been kicked off (ConfigRequest OCCcm02687). Expect to see the move in the next day. Dan Michaels returned Rob Cameron's page concerning the status of the PEA software patch. Ball has built a patch and turned it over for test (no work on the weekend). Since the SMF goes to a "days-only" stance on Tuesday (Aug 10) it is critical for Ball to turn the patch over to the SMF ASAP.
