To:sot_shift from: Dan Schwartz date: 11 Aug 99, 06:00am EDT Subject: SOT shift report, Shift H20 -------- See http://asc.harvard.edu/acis/SOT_reports/sot-shift.html, or /proj/ascwww/AXAF/extra/science/htdocs/acis/SOT_reports/Aug_10_1999_H.txt. Shift H20. (A20) Start at 223:02:00 GMT = 10:00pm 10 Aug EDT End 06:00am 11 Aug SOT Lead DAS Spac/Aspect RAC FOT/Sci liason HRC GA ACIS (Times will be given in GMT on day 223. In general times are rough, not precise.) PLAN Perform SSR playback. (DONE) Perform Earth Sensor scan. Survive 5+ hours without ground communication. (DONE) EVENTS Yaw and pitch maneuvers for earth sensor scan. Scan 24 to be done while out of communication. At start of shift, 02:00, we finish the last ACIS orbital background measurement. OBSID 62704. We continue in format 2. RADMON is enabled, and the EPHIN did trigger the SCS 85 for HRC high voltage. Leads to a non-fatal errror every ephin cycle (2mFrames, 65sec). Disable RADMON at 03:40. OBSID 62476 commanded at 04:00 Start SSR playback 02:47. Get a large number of errors, restart at 02:53. Finish playback at 03:45. Sent CAP 129 to reset fid lights. 03:50. Go LOS at 04:21. AOS at 09:20 09:30 start pitch maneuver to sun point. NOTES/ISSUES/PROBLEMS OBSID look-ahead: OBSID 62744 is to be used during the ACC opening process OBSID 62743 and 62742 are reserved for use during the FCM measurements. If we need more OBSID's for this measurement go to 62738 and then 62732. (Do NOT use OBSID 62741, 62740, or other 6273n numbers, as they were previously used.) OBSID 62948, which I believe is previously unused, is designated for the next attempt at HRC HV manual ramp up. This opportunity is next allowed to be at 20:00 GMT on Wednesday. SSM will decide if that is appropriate for an actual ramp-up. In order to maintain configuration control for ACA software Rob has defined the following procedure: "The SOT spacecraft/aspect scientist, when running CAP 91A or 129, should coordinate with the SOT manager to run the command /proj/rad1/ska/perl/aca8x8 on a HEAD computer (the SOT manager workstation for example). This will send email to the SMF, giving the name of the command upload, and the GMT time it was issued." We defined a policy to exclude any information regarding CHandra performance from these reports, for the period subsequent to SSD opening until NASA Headquarters releases the information officially. This allows us to continue emailing these shift reports to the current distribution, and to post them to the web. We stayed in format 2 throughout the earth scan 24, therefore all that data is lost. This decreases our estimated attitude knowledge upon opening SSD to be 5 deg in the line perpendicular to the sun. ------------------------------------------------------- Dan Schwartz, MS #3 das@head-cfa.harvard.edu phone: (617)495-7232 FAX: (617)495-7356 cell phone: (617)512-5627 pager: 800-759-8352 PIN 1636502 or e-mail 1636502@skytel.com -------------------------------------------------------
