To:sot_shift from: Dan Schwartz date: 12 Aug 99, 10:00pm EDT Subject: SOT shift report, Shift H21 -------- See http://asc.harvard.edu/acis/SOT_reports/sot-shift.html, or /proj/ascwww/AXAF/extra/science/htdocs/acis/SOT_reports/Aug_12_1999_H21.txt. Shift H21. (A21) Start at 224:02:00 GMT = 10:00pm 11 Aug EDT End 06:00am 12 Aug SOT Lead DAS Spac/Aspect RAC FOT/Sci liason EM HRC GA ACIS YB (Times will be given in GMT on day 224. In general times are rough, not precise.) PLAN Continue ACA dark current calibration. Dark current at -10 degC, power cycle PEA and repeat dark current. Continue ACIS FCM measurement. Finish -I & switch to -S. EVENTS Running FCM measurement with OBSID 62743 SSR dump complete ~02:00. Start ACA "cold" dark current cal at 02:24. 04:45 finish second series of ACA dark current run. Re-acquire fid lights, 04:49. 05:06 end ACIS FCM run. Change OBSID to 62742 to continue FCM with ACIS-S, 05:11. 05:13 start next ACIS science run. ~05:40, start 3rd run of ACA dark current cal. Need to restart 07:15. NOTES/ISSUES/PROBLEMS Lost 42 rows of ACA data from the warm dark current cal. Vacuum monitor is reading about 7.6 10^-6 torr -- not quite as low as before the SSD opening. Prior to the 3rd run of ACA dark current calibrations, we did a PEA reset. But we neglected to uplink the command load to reset the correct contents for the 6 bytes which fill in the minor frame header. We commanded a software reset to fix this -- but by this time the ACA warmed up and we needed extra time to cool back to -10 degC. We obtained an extention of Goldstone contact time to allow completion of the ACA dark current cal. (keep Goldstone until 12:37) Tom A checked for interference between fid lights and stars in the initial nudge modes, and confirmed that there is NO interference. Skip ACA dark current load #3, do 1, 2, 4. ------------------------------------------------------- Dan Schwartz, MS #3 das@head-cfa.harvard.edu phone: (617)495-7232 FAX: (617)495-7356 cell phone: (617)512-5627 pager: 800-759-8352 PIN 1636502 or e-mail 1636502@skytel.com -------------------------------------------------------
