Shift L26 Start at 229:10:00 GMT = 06:00am 13 Aug EDT End 02:00pm 14 Aug SOT Lead DAS Spac/Aspect RAC FOT/Sci liason HRC ACIS PPP,MB (Times will be given in GMT on day 229. In general times are rough, not precise.) PLAN Finish RXJ003033.2+261819 distant cluster observation EVENTS Using OBSID 1226. Manuever to RXJ at 10:00. Acquire 3 stars, 2 fids. 17:09 brief CAPs 286, 290 for ACIS bias measurement, and HRC HV on antico shield & HRC-I. AOS at 18:17 NOTES/ISSUES/PROBLEMS The 2 stars NOT acquired had magnitudes of 10.2, 10.1 and it seems the camera often does not track such stars. Rob C will plan an observation where a fainter than 10th mag star will be turned into a monitor, instead of guide, star, so that we will get pixel data to help diagnose this situation. Actually, a series of "experiments" are planned which also toggle the convert to track function and adjust the faint magnitude threshold to minimum, and adjust the exposure time. These are all build into the next daily load. The Fid light not acquired had its current turned off as a relic of the M7 observation. This is because the same fid light set was used in the next load, so the OFLS did not cycle the fid light controller. It has been arranged that there will be a SSR playback at 230:02:00 to playback the high priority ACIS-S plate focus data, with a request for expedited delivery from Madrid, and an expectation of delivery to CXCDS at 05:00GMT = 1am EDT. We hear that "there will be a stand-up meeting at 9:00am every day in the action room. The purpose will be to go over spacecraft status." Vacuum monitor at 4 10^-6 torr. ------------------------------------------------------- Dan Schwartz, MS #3 das@head-cfa.harvard.edu phone: (617)495-7232 FAX: (617)495-7356 cell phone: (617)512-5627 pager: 800-759-8352 PIN 1636502 or e-mail 1636502@skytel.com -------------------------------------------------------
