At AOS ACIS was doing a bias map, so we did not start the grating retraction until that was done, so we could see ACIS events. We did CAP 350 to put us at best focus(-505,0), after the HETG grating hardware retraction 8M014.10, instead of at step 3 of SAP para 8M014.9. At 8M014.12, INSERT HETG USING SOFTWARE COMMANDS, we found the "HETG Insert" Mission SCS to slot #247 was faulty, with commands in reverse order. HETG was re-inserted by hardware command, while we attempted to diagnose the SCS problem. This was confounded by lots of TLM hits, which slowed the operation down. By 0400 it was clear that there would not be time to complete 8M014 to do software insertion and retraction on this DSN contact. We retracted HETG under hardware control, and prepared for the initiation of the new daily load, p9, which begins at 0500. It will be necessary to diagnose & repair SCS #247, and reschedule INSERT HETG USING SOFTWARE COMMANDS in the next few days.
