Notes from 9am status meeting: Explanation of last night's false alarm safe mode message to SOT: GOT was configuring second string for ASVT testing between contacts. Couldn't connect to telemetry server, so went to string 1 to debug. This put ASVT test data into the CXC psicorp server. GOT apologizes for causing alarms. Problem did delay ASVT testing of the SI safing patches yesterday -- will be arranged today, using the PTP2 on string 2. Load review for DEC0599 to be at noon today. Will also incorporate the OR review for DEC1299. Look ahead meetings: ACIS CTI telecon Monday, Dec 6, 4pm. Next quarterly review to be arranged week of Jan 17. (We'll need MPS, CAL, and D&OSS group inputs by COB Jan 7). Overnight, during the CTI measurements on belt exit, ACIS measured S2 in TE raw mode. Temperature of focal plane was back to -109.2 degC by the 06:45 LOS. ACIS taking data with I2, I3, S2, S3, S4 during the 14:30 comm pass, OBSID 325. For OBSID 325, star in slot 5 is intermittently being lost. This star is reading about mag 7.66 in tracker magnitudes. Its limit was 7.781 in the DOT. For a star which is found in the correct position of the ACA, there IS NO RATIONALE TO FAIL TO TRACK IT IF BRIGHTER THAN EXPECTED, as long as it isn't so bright as to saturate the camera. 130-214 keV proton rates have been around 300 per (cm^2 sec MeV ster) for the past 8 hours, following about 10 hours of flaring to several 1000. New Quick look results: Following all look good: OBSID 341 of NGC526a with ACIS S3 OBSID 129 of 3C 58 with HRC-I OBSID 119 of 0540-69.3 with ACIS-S OBSID 1431 of Southern Deep Field with ACIS-I,S2 OBSID 503 of A426 with ACIS-S -- image shows some structure which should be checked against dither pattern. OBSID 315 of N4038/4039 with ACIS-S OBSID 130 of PSR B0656+14 with HRC-LETG -- don't see dispersion in image, which is cropped near core ------------------------------------------------------- Dan Schwartz, MS #3 das@head-cfa.harvard.edu phone: (617)495-7232 FAX: (617)495-7356 cell phone: (617)512-5627 pager: 800-759-8352 PIN 1636502 or e-mail 1636502@skytel.com -------------------------------------------------------
