Shift L104. Start at 308:13:00 GMT = 08:00am 04 Nov EST End 12:00 noon 04 Nov SOT Lead DAS Spac/Aspect FOT/Sci liason HRC ACIS (Times will be given in GMT on day 308. In general times are rough, not precise.) PLAN Continue running under load p24c. Perform 2 Ksec OBSID 397 of NGC 4203 imaging on ACIS-S, then 4 Coma cluster observations imaging on ACIS-I. EVENTS Status at LOS, 308:10:59, was as follows: PCAD MODE = NPNT CONTROL LAW FLAG = NPNT Stars: = 5 FIDS = 3 RA = 194.939 deg DEC = 27.945 deg ROLL = 31.396 deg Format = 2 OBSID = 556 SIM FA = -467 SIM TSC = 74336 (ACIS-S) HETG = OUT (81.0 deg) LETG = OUT (79.5 deg) HRC-S HV is ON EPHIN: A-Leak = 0.2040 mu-a B-Leak = 0.0320 mu-a Next Comm expected 19:30 to 20:15 NOTES/ISSUES/PROBLEMS Quick look data notes: Imaging observations of Pictor A (OBSID 345) and HYDRA A (OBSIDs 575 on ACIS-I and 576 on ACIS-S) look okay. Hydra A clearly shows the enhanced response of the BI chip S3 where the image overlaps to the adjoining front illuminated chip. Capella, OBSID 1420, HRC-S/LETG shows a clear dispersed spectrum, with a "streak" across the entire detector, perpendicular to the dispersion at zero order. ?. Sirius OBSID 1459, from day 300, continues NOT to show a dispersed spectrum -- this may be because the quick look image we get does not show the 2 outer HRC-S MCPs which contain the low energy spectrum. Notes from the 9am status meeting: The ONLS/OFLS system was down for about an hour to perform a Database/Amass backup. Is back up now. P25 load needs to be rebuilt -- grating operations did not schedule as needed due to continuity checking conflicting with the FOT request. Products due out at noon, expect review telecon at 5pm (EST) today. Last upload opportunity will be at 12:40 (GMT) on Saturday. We flowed over to solid state recorder B due to (marginally) large error count in download. We now face losing ~1.5 minutes of data during the manual changeover from tape recorder B back to A. In summary, this calls for more careful consideration of our procedures to reset the pointers, and probably a more complicated proceedure which depends on the current state of the recorders and the times until the next expected passes. ------------------------------------------------------- Dan Schwartz, MS #3 das@head-cfa.harvard.edu phone: (617)495-7232 FAX: (617)495-7356 cell phone: (617)512-5627 pager: 800-759-8352 PIN 1636502 or e-mail 1636502@skytel.com -------------------------------------------------------
