NOTES/ISSUES/PROBLEMS --------------------- Attended the meeting on preparation for the Leonid meteor shower. The decision was made (by Fred) that no observing will be done during peak shower activity (time and duration of "peak" to be determined by D. Shropshire and reviewed by MSFC); rather, the observatory will be oriented in the anti-radiant direction (tail to velocity vector of meteors). This is contrary to the going-in position of MP, etc., that we would observe a target off the anti-radiant direction by about 4 degrees during this period. The question of whether load-shedding (currently a CARD req't.) is really important still remains. At this point, it looks as if the only load-shedding we would do is to turn the SIs off. If we do, then obviously there will be no observing during the peak; if not, then we may do serendipitous observing in the prescribed direction (TBD).
