Therefore an ACIS-I deep field observation of 6 hr duration will be planned, centered in time on the expected meteor peak, and pointed in the anti-radiant direction. The solar array will not be off-pointed from the sun. It will be therefore be at an angle of about 2 degrees from the anti-radiant vector. It was not known (at the meeting) which side of the array will be exposed to the incoming meteors. (Wallace Jackson said that the solar side was preferred to be exposed). The observation which had been planned (4 deg off the anti-radiant) prior to the decision to point along the anti-radiant may still be done, possibly in two time segments, one on either side of the meteor event. Mission planning will be contacted on this. This would provide even more safety. 2) Chandra's state at AOS: PCAD MODE = NPNT CONTROL LAW FLAG = NPNT Stars: = 5 FIDS = 3 RA = 79.210405 deg DEC = 45.990397 deg ROLL = 123.442727 deg Format = 1 OBSID = 1248 SIM FA = -990 (HRC-S, modified from Char file) SIM TSC = -99616 (HRC-S) HETGA = 80.58 deg (OUT) HETGB = 81.33 deg (OUT) LETGA = 8.96 deg (IN) LETGB = 4.83 deg (IN) EPHIN A-leak = 0.2640 B-leak = 0.0400 ACIS = In Event Hist mode HRC = HRC-S IM HV OFF S HV On, Top Stp = 90 Bot Stp = 102 Shield 1 HV OFF Shield 2 HV ON, Step 8 3) Two quick-look images were given given to me by Joy Nichols, from observations 395 (NGC3628) and 556 (Coma Cluster). Both images showed streaks near the center of each FI chip (not evident on the BI chip). I talked to Jim Francis and Glenn Allen of the ACIS team about the streaks. They are normal artifacts associated with cosmic ray events hitting the mid-chip boundary, and the observations looked normal, as far as they could tell by eye. 4) ACIS team is requesting real-time activity during next two passes. At 313:2200 COMM they will run CAP 502 to readout FEP0. At the 314:0600 pass thay will run commands to de-install the new FEP0 patch.
