PLAN Continue running load p26b. In radiation belts until about 21:00. Then will perform post belt CTI measurement, Next contacts: 323:14:00 to 16:00 22:15 to 00:00 324:07:15 to 08:45 EVENTS Status at LOS 323:08:29, was as follows: PCAD MODE = NPNT CONTROL LAW FLAG = NPNT Stars: = 5 FIDS = 0 RA = 327.956 deg (pre-belt CTI) DEC = -30.459 deg ROLL = -71.217 deg Format = 2 OBSID = 62306 SIM FA = -467 SIM TSC = -99616 (HRC-S) HETG = OUT (81.0,81.3 deg) LETG = OUT (80.2,79.1 deg) 14:00 AOS Status at 323:15:21, was as follows: PCAD MODE = NPNT CONTROL LAW FLAG = NPNT Stars: = 5 FIDS = 0 RA = 327.957 deg (pre-belt CTI) DEC = -30.461 deg ROLL = 288.783 deg Format = 2 OBSID = 62306 SIM FA = -467 SIM TSC = -99616 (HRC-S) HETG = OUT (81.0,81.3 deg) LETG = OUT (80.2,79.1 deg) HRC both HV are OFF EPHIN: A-Leak = 0.6080 mu-a (In radiation belts) B-Leak = 0.1240 mu-a 16:00 LOS Status at LOS 323:15:59, was as follows: PCAD MODE = NPNT CONTROL LAW FLAG = NPNT Stars: = 5 FIDS = 0 RA = 327.957 deg (pre-belt CTI) DEC = -30.461 deg ROLL = 288.783 deg Format = 2 OBSID = 62306 SIM FA = -467 SIM TSC = -99616 (HRC-S) HETG = OUT (81.0,81.3 deg) LETG = OUT (80.2,79.1 deg) HRC both HV are OFF EPHIN: A-Leak = 0.5120 mu-a (In radiation belts) B-Leak = 0.1000 mu-a NOTES/ISSUES/PROBLEMS Quick look ACIS data of G21.5-09, OBSIDs 1443, 1441, 1433, all look okay. SIM is off-set, and HRMA is off-pointed. OBSID 376 of 2126-158 is confusing. It should be two chips, S2, S3, in 1/8 subarray mode. But the picture seems to show 5 chips, a source that seems too bright, and another source, with neither source seeming to be on the aim point. I suspect an issue in displaying the 1/8 subarray mode. /pool14/chandra/chandra.snapshot is not running this morning. ACE proton rates are high, flux about 10,000 per (cm^2 s Mev ster) and rising over the last 24 hours. BUT, we have been warned about being careful with the raw ACE data. We would want to safe the SI if the flux sustained an average value of 50,000 for two hours. From the solar-terrestrial relations website: "Region 8765 was mostly unchanged and is capable of producing a major proton flare. Region 8766 did not change significantly and remains capable of producing a major flare." We are currently safe, in the radiation belts, with HRC HV off, and ACIS stowed. We need to be alert to the possibility of stopping the daily load during the comm starting at 22:15 (5:15pm today) in case proton fluxes continue to increase. Notes from 9am status meeting. FOT will be on holiday schedule for Thanksgiving through the next weekend. I suggest SOT do the same, on call of course, and ready to do the FEP0 testing on 330 if possible. 3rd string has been configured with new ONLS and OFLS releases, and OFLS 8.0 testing will start today. The OBC patches for the new safing scenarios have been delivered from the SMF, and testing with ASVT from the OCC should start today. Plan to be reported at 1pm safing telecon. Other meetings, 2pm for discussion of OFLS, 2:15 pm for load p27 review (conflicts, OFLS may be moved by Dan Shropshire). ------------------------------------------------------- Dan Schwartz, MS #3 das@head-cfa.harvard.edu phone: (617)495-7232 FAX: (617)495-7356 cell phone: (617)512-5627 pager: 800-759-8352 PIN 1636502 or e-mail 1636502@skytel.com -------------------------------------------------------
