Shift L77. Start at 281:11:00 GMT = 07:00am 08 Oct EDT End 11:00am 08 Oct SOT Lead DAS Spac/Aspect FOT/Sci liason HRC ACIS (Times will be given in GMT on day 281. In general times are rough, not precise.) PLAN Running Load P20. Out of comm until 16:30. Will perform ACIS post belt CTI measurements starting ~ 14:00. EVENTS NOTES/ISSUES/PROBLEMS At start of shift, Chandra's state from the last LOS, 281:08:28, was as follows: PCAD MODE = NPNT CONTROL LAW FLAG = NPNT Stars: = 5 FIDS = 0 RA = 131.895 deg DEC = 78.099 deg ROLL = 60.944 deg Format = 2 OBSID = 62359 SIM FA = -467 SIM TSC = -99615 (HRC-S) HETG = OUT LETG = OUT HRC HV is OFF Chandra sailed through the last eclipse, 49 minutes long starting at 06:53 GMT. All went as planned. The next eclipse, 283:22:30 on Sunday, will be so short that the OBA heaters and LAE heaters will be forced on to drive the battery depth of discharge such that the batteries can load the increased power coming from the cooled solar arrays when they are brought back on-line. Prior to radiation belt entry yesterday, we measured ACIS CTI at -120 degC on the ACIS-I array. However, because the cool-down process took more than 3 hours (~2 was expected) we did not have time to do the ACIS-S CTI measurement. So use of OBSID 62503 was aborted, and some extra time was spent on the ACIS-I CTI measurement. SHOULD OBSID 62503 be recycled for future use? ------------------------------------------------------- Dan Schwartz, MS #3 das@head-cfa.harvard.edu phone: (617)495-7232 FAX: (617)495-7356 cell phone: (617)512-5627 pager: 800-759-8352 PIN 1636502 or e-mail 1636502@skytel.com -------------------------------------------------------
