There has been little progress in either analysis or testing related to this problem. This is due primarily to this being a holiday weekend. There was discussion of what to do about insertion of the LETG. It was decided to proceed with LETG activities tomorrow (Sunday, 9/5) starting at about 6:00pm EDT. During the discussion it was noted that if we kept the current relay states then we would NOT be able to see any back-EMF voltage on MCE-B drive input, since the telemetry point would be disconnected from the back-EMF voltage. This would have an advantage of isolating the B side DC-to-DC converter from this voltage. It was decided, however, that a knowledge of LETG behavior under the same conditions as obtained for the HETG would be valuable, so a relay will be switched to allow the back-EMF to be seen by telemetry (4MP28BV). It was also decided to queue up a stop command and issue this command if the B side voltage were above 15 volts. 4) FLCA telemetry: We noticed in observation 1299 that although we had commanded FIDS 11, 13 and 14 ON (HRC-S FIDS 1, 3 and 4) we saw currents reported for FID lights 11, 12 and 14 (MSID's AFLC11AI, AFLC12AI, AFLC13AI and AFLC14AI). We did find the 3 FID light images in the expected loctions for FIDS 11, 13 and 14, so we suspect a telemetry database problem, perhaps an intercahnge of the light 12 and 13 current telemetry. We have submitted an OPR for this. 5) Cal group wants to leave LETG in until entry to radiation zone. Kodak has no problem with this.
