ACIS Shift report H260 April 7 2000, GMT 098:23:30:00, EDT April 7, 2000 19:30 PLAN: Execute CAP 591 to test the new "Squeegy" mode on S0. SUMMARY: We ran the new Squeegy mode on S0. A preliminary look at the data indicates the results are consistent with expectations from the lab data. The Squeegy mode clearly captured and held charge in the top 16 rows and was able to distribute it across the CCD. The resolution did improve and the loss of charge (the decrease in the peak pulse height) across the chip also improved. The bias map indicates there was a lot of charge in the 16row Squeegy, so it appears that a smaller number of rows would be the next test. The control, non-Squeegy run shows no ill effects of the Squeegy mode on the top 16 rows. Once again all the ACIS realtime activities went "exactly as planned." Many thanks to everyone who contributed, especially Peter, Royce, and Andy for getting these complex loads built correctly and for the OC/CC for executing a long and complex realtime procedure. 1) Detailed Timeline: GMT 098:23:30 AOS on DSS 54 (Madrid) donwlink only 098:23:31 FP Temp = -117.1 C 098:23:35 uplink capability 098:23:35 FP Temp = -117.3 C 098:23:37 OC starts SSR playback 098:23:45 FP Temp = -117.6 C 098:23:50 FP Temp = -117.8 C 098:23:58 FP Temp = -118.1 C 098:00:05 FP Temp = -118.3 C 098:00:11 FP Temp = -118.6 C 098:00:21 FP Temp = -118.9 C 098:00:28 FP Temp = -119.1 C 098:00:32 FP Temp = -119.2 C 098:00:43 FP Temp = -119.5 C 098:00:48 FP Temp = -119.7 C 099:00:50 1st commands from daily load to start normal ACIS CTI measurement 099:00:52 startScience for normal CTI measurement 098:00:54 FP Temp = -119.9 C 099:01:06 bias packets start 099:01:07 issue two stopScience commands to terminate run early 099:01:15 bias maps complete 099:01:16 OBSID changed to 62894 099:01:18 start uploads to custom Squeegy PRAM 099:01:29 load PB block and 2D window block 099:01:31 startScience 099:01:42 bias map complete from S0 099:01:45 1st event data, fep Timestamps indicate proper clocking 099:02:10 we are convinced the data look good, so we allow the run to continue 099:02:48 stopScience, acquire 1123 frames for 3706s 099:02:50 PRAM dump 099:02:52 SRAM dump 099:02:53 OBSID change to 62893 099:02:56 startScience for non-Squeegy control run 099:03:08 bias maps complete 099:03:10 event data look normal, bias maps shows no evidence of the squeegy at the top of the chip 099:03:30 LOS 099:03:36 stopScience from daily load 2) Radiation environment EPHIN was reading very low on all electron and proton channels.
