Timeline (UT times) 0217 transition to Normal Sun mode, attitude hold Initial attitude drift of about 15 arcsec over 10 minutes, followed by approx stable pointing. 0222 rotate solar panels to 75 degree offpoint (165 deg encoder angle) note: SA sun presence signal remains "ILLM" 0244 Initial EPS engineer evaluation of battery DoD rate indicates need to increase SA offpoint to 76.5 deg. Note: +Y SA shows more output current than -Y: 12A to 9.7A. This is reverse of normal pointing current difference. 0255 Final EPS decision to set SA offpoint to 76.5 deg, using SCS 148. Hold for 10 minutes of EPS analysis before updating safing SCS 132 to 76.5 deg in OBC A and B. Attitude disturbance of about 18 arcsec in pitch, 3 arcsec in yaw seen during SA move. +Y,-Y SA currents drop to 10.4A, 8.3 A. 0310 ACA lost track of star in slot 3. OBC will not re-issue search command in NSUN. Looks like cosmic ray hit causing large (several pixel) centroid shift. This star is at mag 10.8, 1+ mag fainter than AGASC. 0310 EPS is happy with SA offpoint at 76.5 deg. SCS 132 is updated to 166.5 deg in OBC A and B, using EA_SAF3_132.CLD, EB_SAF3_132.CLD. 0412 SA angles commanded back to 90 deg. Batteries SOC got to 73%. Bus V at 28.7 V. SA temps at 89 deg. PCAD pitch excursion of about 30 arcsec during SA move. 0419 Bus V peaked at 32.4 V. 0422 SA return to auto-tracking at 90 deg. 0427 PCAD control transition from attitude hold to sun point. Pitch correction of 240 arcsec. 0430 Batteries disconnected. EPS in SUN state. 0442 PCAD in NMAN mode. 0446 PCAD in NPNT mode, with 5 guide stars. A successful SA offpoint demo. EPS s/s engineers will analyze EPS data to determine optimum SA offpoint angle for lunar eclipse in October.
