The ASCDS quick-look staff are now filtering on good aspect, and that is eliminating most problems. The data set extends from mid-slew to mid-slew. Since the continuous dither uplink on January 25th 4:00PM EST, because of changes to the ATSs for the SIs, any quick look images that include that entire interval will include detector data from incorrect detector configurations and from times when the pointing at the target is not finalized, like slewing. Therefore, the QL processing should be filtered for AOACASEQ = KALM. Also, if AOFSTAR not = GUID (i.e. if = ACQ or BRIT), the normal star catalog will not be appropriate. It is believed that AP handles all these conditions. In level 1, the extra data with KALM not true will be included, but in level 2 will be filtered out (per Adam). However, that should be checked. Tails from strong point sources show up in the HRC QL images. There is a filter Adam knows about which can eliminate this. I recommend we use this filter in the QL image processing, so we don't keep getting surprised by this. The ASCDS staff and SOT lead should be alerted that there will still be small residual image tails that appear. These could easily be mistaken for astrophysical jets. However, they are always aligned with the detector axes. OFLS8 testing: comments from ACIS received. We expect to use OFLS8 for the Feb 27 Chandra command load. OFLS9 planning: meeting at 2 pm today about its implementation C&C file: new file ready for use. Thermal: power on HRMA and bench is levelling off.
