EVENTS DONE OBSID -------------- ---- ----- AOS 1400 3 fids,5 stars, SIM at HRC-I position 1505 756 PROTON ALERT! from email 1529 LOS 1500 9 AM meeting report ------------------- Ops: Reran CAP 552 to dump the CPE warm start count. Mission Planning: Gamma ray burst source TOO successfully carried out. Load review planned for 2 pm today. Flt SW: Bill reports the patch to zero out the CPE warm start count has not been sent. He is examining the data to find when the two warm starts occurred, and when satisfied, will execute a CAP to zero the count, probably today. DSOPS: had trouble processing TOO data overnight for a source position. Joy delivered the QL image to SOT Lead at 1710GMT. OFLS8 testing: PCAD: the gyros look good over the past several days. The large offset between expected and achieved position after a large maneuver last Wednesday resulted from it being a large maneuver. About 20% of this offset is due to uncorrected stellar aberration from the earth's motion about the Sun, which is not compensated for in the OFLS nor onboard. They plan to account for this component in their data analysis, so that their database of residuals will focus more on gyro scale factors. Evaluation of QL data done at 042:15:30 -------------------------------------------- The following observations from the last ten days should be available for review. If there is no comment after the entry, it means the image has not yet appeared in the book. SOT lead had initiated a discussion with Rob Cameron about this situation at 1350 GMT. The result of various consultations is that we plan to continue with the onboard load for the time being. The nxt critical point is tomorrow, Saturday at 2 pm EST, when ACIS-I is scheduled to move into the focal plane. we will continue to monitor the ACE proton flux, and make a decision Saturday morning on whether further action is needed. The OFLS Rev 7.0 ODE characteristic file was updated on Monday Feb 7, 2000 to correct the locations and time delays for the ground stations. The OFLS clock correlation is now using non-zero internal delays for Goldstone as follows: DSS-16 66 usec DSS-24 77 usec DSS-27 146 usec. The rms residuals for a typical 2-week clock correlation, which was 34 usec, is now 3.2 usec. The DSN station coordinates, originally entered incorrectly with geodetic coordinates, are now in geocentric. This is a 20 km correction, and should cause a factor of 4 improvement in the ability to properly timetag science data.
