ACIS Shift report L212 February 20 2000, GMT 14:10:00, EST February 20, 2000 09:10 PLAN: Continue recovery from safemode and start a LOOOOONG ACIS CTI measurement. SUMMARY: All looks well with ACIS, proper voltages and count rates from the CCDs. ** PLEASE NOTE **, OBSID 62895 will be a very interesting dataset because it will be 10.5hr of data on the external cal source and will be acquired at a different part of the orbit than we usually collect CTI calibration data. We are currently at 90,000km and increasing. This science run will end at 2000:052:01:45, at which the normal load will take over. 1) Detailed Timeline: GMT 051:14:10 AOS on DSS 24 (Goldstone) donwlink only 051:14:20 uplink capability 051:14:30 Begin momentum unloading 051:14:43 momentum unloading complete 051:14:46 Radmon enabled (CAP 70) 051:14:47 HRC re-configured (CAP 566) 051:14:49 switch to FMT 1 051:14:42 finally get "science Idle" on ACIS 051:15:03 HRC activities complete 051:15:04 FMT 2 (Yippee !) Altitude is ~90,000km and increasing FP temp = -119.9 C, 1CR[AB]T = -127.9 C change OBSID to 62895 051:15:14 Activate SCS 137 which includes all commands to start ACIS science run 051:15:14 confirm receipt of following commands: WSVIDALLDN WSPOW0CF3F RS_0000001 RH_0000001 WT00216014 051:15:16 XTZ0000005 startScience 051:15:28 1st bias packets coming down 051:15:34 CCD voltages look good 051:15:40 last bias packet, event data starts 051:15:45 rates look nominal on S2,S3,I0-I3 (~100 cts/s per chip) 051:17:45 FP temp = -119.9 C 051:17:45 LOS 2) Radiation environment EPHIN is showing lower count rates, P4 rate is 7 as opposed to the 114 of 2 days ago. The E150 rate is at ~350, which is a little high. ACE is showing enhanced rates over the last 36hrs which may finally being trending downwards; the 2 hour fluence is currently 5.5e7 protons/cm^2 ster MeV and we safe ACIS at 3.6e8 protons/cm^2 ster MeV. GOES is trending downwards so that the rates are an order of magnitude lower than they were 36 hrs ago. 3) ACIS relevant notes - at 051:14:49, we switched to FMT 1 and ACIS was finally able to finish telemetering the event data it had been storing for the last two days. Oh, I pity the people who will try and decom these data ! - I printed out two copies of the DEA TLM page so that Bob, Mark, etal can check the CCD voltages. They all look fine to me. - The time from the echo of the startScience until the end of the last bias packet was 23min 58s, which is 1438s. - count rates are roughly 100 cts/s per chip, saturating badly as expected. - at LOS we had the following total counts: I3 S3 I0 I1 I2 S2 179850 444762 174856 184653 178846 202578 so multiply by 5 roughly to get expected number of counts 4) Chandra State at Beginning of Pass UTC 2000:051:14:44:02 (Sun Feb 20) f_ACE 8.24e+03 F_ACE 6.88e+07 R km 85712A OBT 2000:051:14:43:38 CTUVCDU 857843 OBC s/w NRML FMT4_EPS CPEstat NORM OBT 67445018.55 ONLVCDU 857832 OBC Errs 0 OBSID 0 EPState SUN SIM TTpos -99616 HETG Angle 80.6 PCADMODE NPNT RA 91.170 Bus V 30.55 SIM FApos -467 LETG Angle 79.1 PCONTROL NPNT Dec -67.310 Bus I 29.75 AOFSTAR GUID Roll 300.549 ACA Object SSSSSSSS Dither DISA HRC-I HV OFF ACA ImFunc TTTTTNNN Dith Yang 0.00 Yaw Rate 0.07 HRC-S HV ON ACA CCD Temp -10.4 Dith Zang 0.00 Pitch Rate -0.10 OBSMode NEXT ACA Int Time 1.698 Roll Rate -1.51 Door OP UNAC AOACSTAT OK FSS SunBeta SUN Door CL UNAC FSS Alfa -1.08 Batt 1 SOC 100.00% Avg HRMA Temp 70.61 FSS Beta -0.30 Batt 2 SOC 100.00% ACIS Stat7-0 64 Avg OBA Temp 50.97 SA Resolv 90.07 Batt 3 SOC 100.00% Cold Rad -127.9 OBA Tavg Fault NFLT SA Sun Pres ILLM Warm Rad -82.0 OBA Trng Fault NFLT +Y SA Amps 14.10 HRMA power 40.40 -Y SA Amps 15.26 EPHIN Geom LARG OBA power 139.00 +Y SA Temp 115.49 E1300 4 -Y SA Temp 115.12 P4GM 7 Roll Mom. 0.962 SCS 128 P41GM 0 Pitch Mom. -4.852 SCS 129 UpL Cmd Acc 65527 A-Leak 0.4520 Yaw Mom. -3.510 SCS 130 Cmd Rej A 119 B-Leak 0.0720 6) Chandra state at the end of the pass: UTC 2000:051:17:42:01 (Sun Feb 20) f_ACE 5.90e+03 F_ACE 1.38e+08 R km 101455A OBT 2000:051:17:41:27 CTUVCDU 899481 OBC s/w NRML FMT2_NORM CPEstat NORM OBT 67455687.57 ONLVCDU 899472 OBC Errs 0 OBSID 62895 EPState SUN SIM TTpos -99616 HETG Angle 80.6 PCADMODE NPNT RA 91.170 Bus V 30.55 SIM FApos -467 LETG Angle 79.1 PCONTROL NPNT Dec -67.310 Bus I 29.00 AOFSTAR GUID Roll 300.548 ACA Object SSSSSSSS Dither DISA HRC-I HV OFF ACA ImFunc TTTTTNNN Dith Yang 0.00 Yaw Rate -0.11 HRC-S HV ON ACA CCD Temp -10.4 Dith Zang 0.00 Pitch Rate 0.26 OBSMode NEXT ACA Int Time 1.698 Roll Rate -0.17 Door OP UNAC AOACSTAT OK FSS SunBeta SUN Door CL UNAC FSS Alfa -1.21 Batt 1 SOC 100.00% Avg HRMA Temp 70.61 FSS Beta -0.29 Batt 2 SOC 100.00% ACIS Stat7-0 64 Avg OBA Temp 50.97 SA Resolv 90.07 Batt 3 SOC 100.00% Cold Rad -127.9 OBA Tavg Fault NFLT SA Sun Pres ILLM Warm Rad -82.0 OBA Trng Fault NFLT +Y SA Amps 13.91 HRMA power 67.50 -Y SA Amps 15.26 EPHIN Geom LARG OBA power 43.60 +Y SA Temp 115.49 E1300 1 -Y SA Temp 115.12 P4GM 4 Roll Mom. 0.896 SCS 128 P41GM 0 Pitch Mom. -5.472 SCS 129 UpL Cmd Acc 3881 A-Leak 0.4520 Yaw Mom. -3.697 SCS 130 Cmd Rej A 182 B-Leak 0.0720 problems: The TST room is sizzling.
